We will always be as sympathetic as possible should you need to cancel but with only seventeen rooms we unfortunately have to enforce some guidelines for charging when bookings are cancelled close to the arrival date. Guests are respectfully reminded that a booking constitutes a contract. When rooms are cancelled we do make every effort to re-book them and, if successful, will be able, on request, to transfer a portion of your deposit to another booking for the same number of nights within a 6 month limit – if the new dates are priced higher you would need to pay the difference of course. A Different policy applies to bookings made on our own website and Advance Purchase “special promotions” – these bookings are always keenly priced and must be paid for in advance of your stay, once booked cannot be refunded and you will be charged for the full value of the stay if you decide to cancel the booking.
For telephone bookings we usually take £50 per room (£100 for a deluxe room) non-refundable deposit on booking and this is automatically forfeited if you cancel within 14 – 42 days of arrival; in every case any refunds or major changes to a booking attract a £10 per room per night admin fee (£20 for a deluxe room); in the event of a cancellation within 14 days of arrival or a “no-show” we reserve the right to charge for the first night and up to two thirds of the remaining balance.
